The 935 represented a paradigm shift for racing as the car was not just for the “Werks” team, but was also offered directly to customers as a turn-key racer. In 1979 the true dominance was proven at the 24 hours of Le Mans where 935s placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd beating the factory prototype entries from all manufacturers! With some examples achieving up to 845 horsepower, the 935 was a global racing success from its introduction in 1976 through the early 80’s.
